Types of College Scholarship

Education is everybody’s right. No matter the circumstances, it is imperative that everybody gets an education. Most governments prioritize the education of their citizens second only to national security. For what is a country of illiterate and ignorant people? Thus are created departments and programs designed to address problems on literacy.

After graduating from high school, most feel confused on what college course to take. Some do not have any idea what path towards a career to pursue. A good career advice will greatly help these individuals.

Scholarships can be divided into these:

Merit – A financial position is not a factor, but it could be granted due to a student’s athletic or artistic abilities and/or intelligence on.

Need – Financial aid is determined through the financial need of the recipient.

Sociology – The determining factor is race, religion or national origin of an applicant.

Institutional – Colleges or universities award this grant to students planning to pursue studies in that institution.

General – Anything that does not fall under any of the above. An example would be companies who grant best school with scholarships to the children of employees upon reaching certain tenure of years in the company.

College scholarships have always been available. They do not exist just to solve financial problems but to enlighten and inspire individuals to pursue their goals by empowering them. That’s the reason most scholars are successful in their chosen fields.
